Lodge Compris is a luxury accommodation in Dawlish, situated on the Golden Sands Holiday Resort. Lodge Compris is not formally adapted for full accessibility needs but can accommodate those with mobility/sensory issues as it is open plan with ramp access onto the decking. We even have outdoor electrical sockets to charge electric wheelchairs or mobility scooters if needed. Surrounded by a delightful secure decking area with a ramp and outdoor furniture, no expense has been spared on this wonderful accommodation.
Entering the property through the double glazed front door, you are welcomed by a generous living space comprised of an expansive seating area, dining area and modern fully equipped kitchen with American fridge freezer with ice and water dispensers, dishwasher and coffee machine.
This luxury accommodation in Dawlish boasts a generous sized double bedroom comprising of an ensuite with shower and a walk-in closet/storage area. The second bedroom is a large twin bedroom with a walk-in closet/storage area. The family bathroom is situated in the main hallway with a shower over bath arrangement. The accommodation also benefits from a double sofa bed for additional sleeping requirements in the living area.
The luxury accommodation in Dawlish has super-fast fibre internet available free to guests as well as a games console and Netflix on the living space smart TV.
There is an outside storage facility for use by our guests to store external items during their stay in Summer/spring months.
We are Amanda and Graham Spaull. We have owned Lodge Compris for a number of years now and we pride ourselves on our ‘home from home’ luxury accommodation in Dawlish. We love spending time at our lodge with our three children and relaxing the day away in the comforts the lodge has to offer. We do also like exploring the local area and attractions and using the onsite facilities. Our motivation for purchasing the lodge was to have a familiar and accessible place to holiday with our disabled son and ensure he enjoys time away whilst still being able to meet his needs. We love our Lodge and we want others to experience the the amazing area and accommodation. We rent our lodge out at cost price as we are not in this for profit, we want to enable others to have an affordable holiday our beautiful, luxury accommodation in Dawlish. We cater for families with children, dogs and couples who just want a break away. We have tried to kit the lodge out with all those extras you need to keep those home comforts with you as we know cars can become very full quickly. Guests can enjoy the facilities of both Golden Sands park and Dawlish Sands Park (10 minutes walk) – that’s three swimming pools and two fully refurbished clubhouses all within walking distance. Golden Sands is an ideal holiday destination in a wonderful Devon hotspot, and the atmosphere on the park is always very friendly. With our Kids’ Clubs and activities, to stage shows and live entertainment, there’s plenty to keep the kids happy too. In fact, that’s one of the main reasons so many guests come back year after year! All activities (including swimming sessions) must be pre-booked.

Dawlish is a traditional seaside town, with a wonderful golden sand beach on its doorstep. The town offers a range of amusements and is centred around The Lawn and Brook, which is home to the famous black swans. Just a few miles down the road is Dawlish Warren, a beautiful nature reserve with a blue flag beach.

Dawlish is a great family holiday destination, with a long sandy beach which is perfect for summer day swimming, exploring rock pools or sand castle building. Dawlish Town Beach is just a short walk from the town centre, full of golden sand perfect for families and days on the beach. Dawlish Warren Beach and Dawlish Warren Nature Reserve is just under 2 miles away and has beautiful sand dunes and is a bird watchers paradise.

More about Dawlish
The town has plenty of interesting shops and a brook that runs through the centre of a wide open green, The Lawn, which is great for games and picnics. The brook is home to a range of birds as well as the famous black swans which can be found swimming sedately along the river, the swans have been residents in Dawlish since at least the early 1900s. If you love to cycle – you will love the cycling routes in and around Dawlish. The Exe Estuary Trail offers off road cycling for 16 miles from Dawlish Warren to Exmouth, along some of the most stunning coastal scenery. There are also plenty of coastal walks from Dawlish along the South West Coast Path – you can either head left to Dawlish Warren and Exmouth, or right to Teignmouth and Torbay. The South Devon Railway Line runs through Dawlish, this is considered one of the most scenic railway lines in Britain, it runs along the coast from Exeter to Newton Abbot providing wonderful views along the Exe Estuary and out to sea. The line runs along the coast under the distinct red brown cliffs and through series of dramatic tunnels, literally a few metres from the shoreline.
